Michelle Gill
Website Designer, Event Planner, & Writer
My Story
I began planning, organizing, and managing events when I managed the Mill Mountain Coffee & Tea shop in downtown Roanoke when I was in college. I had 40 employees, a bustling coffee shop, and a monthly art show that I managed. I began planning political events as an intern and volunteer. I graduated from Roanoke College with a degree in Political Science with a concentration in Written Communication.
I learned a great deal as the New River Valley Director and then as the Colonial Area Director for the American Heart Association about fundraising and event management. I was a member of the National Society of Fundraising Executives and took advantage of their education opportunities along with the RNC Campaign School. I then moved to Florida and became a political consultant, planning many fundraising and campaign events.
In 2003, I had the wonderful opportunity to become the Associate Director of the Florida Student Association. There, I was able to travel the state of Florida planning conferences, golf tournaments, and other events. As a member of the Association of the United States Army in Tallahassee, I created the Annual AUSA Golf Tournament and planned and managed this event for six years.
After the birth of my daughter, I became the Financial Director for Speer Operational Technologies for five years. Over the last seven years, I created the 1000 Hills Art Project at Land of a Thousand Hills coffee shop and began a website design business which specializes in author sites.
I am also a member of the Roanoke Valley Christian Writers.
